Dear Benfer Families,
What an honor it is to be named principal of Benfer Elementary! I am beyond excited to begin the school year and cannot wait to get to know Benfer’s community, families, students and faculty. It is my promise to continue to foster the mantra “Expect Success” by helping each and every child develop their individual plan for academic and social achievement. As a Klein educator for the past seventeen years, my educational beliefs have always been centered around:

1. Fostering a learning environment that is fulfilling innovation
2. Inspiring and helping each child grow to maximize their individual performance and seek their personal pathway to success
3. Creating a  culture that is supportive, collaborative and nurturing.
These three foundational elements will continue to guide me as I begin my journey as lead learner at Benfer.

My preparation in education began as an undergraduate at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada followed by a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.  I began my teaching career at Doerre Intermediate where I served as an ELA teacher for fourteen years. I then moved to Hassler Elementary to teach 4th grade followed by two years at Krahn Elementary as the assistant principal. I am proud to have been an active member in the Promise2Purpose vision development and served on the district-wide Strategic Planning Committee as well as the Gifted and Talented Guiding Coalition.

I welcome the community’s support as we begin this new adventure together. Please do not hesitate to pop in and say hello when you are in the building. I look forward to answering any questions you may have about your school and to meeting the families of my students.
