BENFER ELEMENTARY

GOAL ONE

Improve high quality teaching practices by being results focused, which includes ensuring high expectations for every student, monitoring student progress and celebrating student growth, providing targeted support that is responsive to student needs and working interdependently in a thriving professional learning community.

 

STRATEGIES

  1. Teachers, specialists and team leaders will work collaboratively to align instructional practices so strategies are consistent across grade levels thus providing equal opportunity for all students.
  2. Ongoing implementation of the Reader’s/Writer’s Workshop with fidelity, to help learners become fluid readers, writers, editors and revision masters.
  3. Assessing swiftly via CCAs at the appropriate level of rigor. The CCAs will be broken down into the standards and used to create small intervention groups developed around individual student need.
  4. Utilize Lead4Ward as a resource to guide instructional practices.

 

GOAL TWO

Create personalized learning pathways for each student.

 

STRATEGIES

  1. Teachers will plan and adjust instruction to meet the various needs of the students in the classroom via personalized learning plans, varied learning experiences, and student ownership.
  2. Students will gain ownership of their learning by setting personal goals as they progress along their learning path with guidance from their teacher.

 

 

GOAL THREE

Build a positive campus culture focused on ensuring staff and family involvement and resulting in student success.

STRATEGIES

  1. Increase community involvement and campus investment by building positive, sustained relationships with students, teachers, and community members
  2. We will promote student success through character education and community service opportunities.

  1. Strengthen Tier I reading and writing instruction through implementing the Reader’s/Writer’s Workshop model with fidelity
  2. Focus on getting students to achieve more than a year's worth of growth in order to get more students to the Meets and Masters level of performance
