As principal of the Benfer Bobcats, I am delighted and honored to lead our school community. My journey as an educator started off as a student at the University of Houston. While earning my Bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, I worked as a special education paraprofessional for the Harris County Department of Education. After graduating, I held various positions in Spring ISD as a 2nd- 4th-grade teacher, ESL coordinator, and Instructional Specialist. Once I obtained my master’s degree at Lamar University, I soon became an assistant principal in Katy ISD and later, in Klein ISD for a total of 5 years before taking on the principal role at Benfer.

When I am not advocating for the education of students, I am being a mother to my 2 wonderful children, Mason and Morgan, who are also Klein ISD students. Often, I attend sporting events with my kids throughout the district, so if you see me out and about, be sure to say hello. Additionally, I can be seen out shopping, walking/jogging in the park, discovering new restaurants, and traveling to explore unfamiliar places.

Throughout the school year, I look forward to working alongside our Benfer Family.

My goal is to maintain a positive school culture and successful educational program conducive to student learning and development through personalized learning experiences. If you need to reach me, do not hesitate to shoot me an email or call my office. As a Klein ISD educator, I am here to ensure that EVERY student is able to discover their purpose and ultimately become a success.

I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve the Benfer campus and community. I have served Klein ISD for 14 years. Most recently at Kuehnle Elementary as a teacher and assistant principal. I obtained my B.S. from Sam Houston State University and earned my M. Ed. from the University of North Texas.

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my fiancé. I also enjoy shopping and cooking. You can even catch me exploring craft fairs, trade shows and market days all around southern Texas.

I have a strong belief in building a culture of trust and partnership while serving others. I believe in providing opportunities to inspire and positively influence the lives of others. I believe strongly in the Promise2Purpose vision of Klein ISD and I am dedicated to the restless pursuit of student success.

I am honored to be a part of the Benfer family and serve as assistant principal. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, my master’s from Pfeiffer University, and my principalship from Sam Houston State University.  I began my educational career in 2008 in Charlotte, North Carolina where I taught 2nd and 4th grade.  After moving to Texas, I continued teaching in Mesquite ISD.  While there, I taught 2nd-grade reading and 3rd-grade math.  I came to Klein ISD in 2010 and taught 5th-grade math and science for four years at Krahn Elementary.  In 2014 I transitioned to Cy-Fair ISD and taught 6th-grade math for two years.  I have most recently served as a middle school assistant principal for the past four years.  I am ecstatic about being back in Klein ISD and I look forward to getting to know and work with our Bobcats and their families.

My wife Jinae and I have three children.  We have 7-year-old twin girls named Gia and Gabrielle.  We also have a 4-year-old son named Grayson.  I enjoy spending time with my family and watching our children participate in sports.  Other interests of mine include grilling out, going on bike rides, swimming, and just enjoying the outdoors.

As we embark on this journey, know that I am here to support you in every way possible and we strive for every student to enter Benfer with a promise and exit with a purpose.
